BOSSANOVA

A game of temperamental influences

Experiences

Winery

Jobim, Moraes, Gilberto and the randomness of their meeting made the Brazilian Bossanova a game of temperamental influences that contained in the music a mental atmosphere shared by more and more distant countries.

With the same spirit, the Bossanova winery produces high-end wines on the Teramane Hills in Controguerra (Te)

Abandoned misleading life assignments, the owners Andrea Quaglia and Nat Colantonio return to the land aiming at the legitimate magnification of the territory that has hosted the approximately 4 hectares of their vineyards for more than forty years.

To do this they must be sure of a choral awareness among modern winemakers, of the centrality of the ancestral rituality of winemaking, hostile to the impact of any modern sophistication.

The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC and Montepulciano d 'Abruzzo DOCG products are ecstatic expression of the weight of nature and culture, environment and gestures.

The threshing floor, the silence, the sea breeze, the limestone nature of the ground, the judicious hand of those who collect and squeeze, make Bossanova a wine like those who choose it. Vibrant, Authentic, Concrete.

Currently the company has about 20 hectares of which 4 hectares of vineyards and 2 hectares of olive grove and the area under vines is gradually increasing.

The grapes are harvested manually after a careful selection of the bunches, only the best ones will leave the vineyard in small boxes to preserve maximum integrity.

In the cellar the process is artisanal, fermentations are spontaneous and without the addition of selected yeasts and occur in vitrified cement and amphorae, products are not used to alter the natural characteristics of the wine and clarifications and filtrations are not carried out.

"Our reality is rooted in a family tradition of about 40 years, when our grandfather planted the vineyards on these magnificent hills overlooking the sea and the mountain and gave birth to the current winery we inherited. We took custody with pride and motivation, we treasure traditions with enthusiasm by adding our vision and creativity.

We produce wine in an artisanal way, without the aid of any kind of sophistication. In the vineyard we work according to the principles of Biodynamics and our prerogative is to produce the highest quality wine (we would prefer to tell you about it with a bottle of course).

We strongly believe that more sustainable agriculture is absolutely possible.

This, together with the goal of producing the highest quality natural wines, are the cornerstones of Bossanova and has characterized the way we work in the countryside and in the cellar, the choice of winemaking, the containers and the approach we have with the public.

Speaking of the public, we are two guys who have so much to tell, who have chosen to return and enhance this area, it is a mission, for this reason we invite people with pleasure and pride to come and visit us, at any time, to make the our company, tell it, without secrets.

We would like to spread this approach and extend it to other local producers, we are moving to create synergies, this is what is needed for the growth of our territory and our dream is also to be a reference for the type of product, to demonstrate that you can work in a more authentic, clean, natural way. Region

We are on the hill at about 200 m asl, where the influence of the sea on one side and that of the Gran Sasso d’Italia on the other, create an ideal microclimate for the development of the vine.

We are inside the DOCG COLLINE TERAMANE, famous for the quality of its Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.

The landscape is truly unique, we see the snow on the peaks and the sea next to it, olive groves and vineyards as far as the eye can see

Controguerra is wine, wine is Controguerra, exclusive terroir made of natural virtuosity and deep winemaking tradition. We inherited this tradition from our family and we proudly preserve it, emphasizing its preciousness and trying to promote it.

The importance of terroir is the essence of our love for wine and the basis of our production philosophy.

We naturally let the characteristics of our vineyards be expressed without sophistication, we are nature's assistants. Also in winemaking we use vitrified cement containers which, by taking the concept to the extreme, do not alter the organoleptic characteristics that derive from the vineyard. I like to say that the wine inside these containers evolves with itself.
